If You Don't Know About It, Will You Miss It?


To my friends in the 6th U.S.Congressional District;


I have often heard it said that you won't miss something you haven't had.

Is it also true that you won't miss things you didn't know you had?

Last week we lost something most of us probably didn't know we had. "Habeas Corpus"

Congress voted to wipe out a safeguard against illegal imprisonment, with one quick vote.

They knew we would never know. Because most of us don't even know what "Habeas Corpus" is.

We didn't know when they took the 4th Amendment to the Constitution, did we?

Neither did we know when they took the 5th, 6th, and 7th amendments.

I'm not really sure that the 1st Amendment protection still allows me to even tell you this.

It's not that we don't care, we just don't have time do we?

I hate to be the one that tells you this, but if we don't stand up for the Constitution and our Country today, we are not going to have a country tomorrow.

Ask your U.S.Representative how he voted on the "Military Commissions Act of 2006". If he doesn't respond, then let me know, I will tell you how he voted.

Also while you are at it, ask the other candidates how they would have voted.

Use those answers to do a little housekeeping this November.
